Baylor University Grad Students Honored for Work with PEP

During the Graduate Management Admissions Council (GMAC) annual industry conference in June, Baylor University's MBA program received one of the TeamMBA awards for its commitment to social responsibility. Baylor won the award for collaborative effort based on its MBA students' participation in the Prison Entrepreneurship Program (PEP). To watch the video about this award, click here
More than 48 MBA programs were nominated for the TeamMBA Awards. Baylor was one of six MBA programs recognized during the awards presentation at the conference, which featured a video that highlighted the Baylor students' efforts in working with prisoners in the PEP. Baylor MBA students are matched with one PEP participant each semester and spend one hour each week providing feedback to the PEP participant on his business plan.
Straight from the Inside
Check out the newest journal entries from our Class XI participants as they prepare for the BPC and graduation. Here's an excerpt from Week 11:"One thing that is dawning upon me this week is the word philanthropy. PEP is obviously a nonprofit organization meant to bestow philanthropic acts upon inmates. For the most part that is true; however, it is so much more than that. I realized that this “philanthropy” holistically reaches so much more than just inmates. These volunteers leave here feeling something that you just cannot put a price on: love."
